The writer seems convinced that humans aren't fit to live in a civilized universe. Story after story of how mankind is killing itself and its planet, the constant threat of atomic war, the inevetibility of our own destruction,etc... While some of the stories are clever the constant drumbeat of negativity made me just want to give up reading. Fortunately there are better books and better things to do than read this book.
This book contains some of the finest short stories I have ever read. Running the gambit from time travel to overpopulation to pollution, these timeless lessons come at you in a way you'll never forget. Howard Fast appeals to a whole new audience with this work.
This title is difficult to find, and if you do find it, keep both hands on it, because you'll want to share it, and they'll want to keep it!
I first read "Time and Riddle" in the 80's. It is simply a classic. I was so pleased to see it released in and have again enjoyed Howard Fast's ability to surprise and delight the reader.
